MINIMUM PC REQUIREMENTS

System Requirements

The GiftTran™ manual encoding device and GiftTran™ software can be installed in different network scenarios and hardware configurations.  Basically, however, you can install the software as a single CPU setup, as a client server setup on a LAN, or in a Multi-location enterprise scenario.  The hardware and software requirements for those two cases follow.

Single CPU Install

       Workstation/Server

Windowsâ System Requirements:

• Windowsâ 2000 Service Pack 3, Windowsâ Server 2003, Windowsâ XP Service Pack 2

• Ability to connect a Magstripe Reader device. (PS2 port or other).  Please check with Debit Design about compatibility.

• Hard drive with 350 MB space free (required for complete install) -  more required as database increases in size.

• 128 MB of system RAM

• Windowsâ compatible report and receipt printers (ASCII mode for receipt printer)

Client Server Architecture Install for a Single Location

            Server

Windowsâ System Requirements:

• Windowsâ 2000 Service Pack 3, Windowsâ Server 2003, Windowsâ XP Service Pack 2

• Hard drive with 350 MB space free (required for complete install) -  more required as database increases in size.

• 128 MB of system RAM

• LAN connectivity required to other workstations

Windowsâ System Requirements:

• Windowsâ 2000 Service Pack 3, Windowsâ Server 2003, Windowsâ XP Service Pack 2

• Hard drive with 300 MB space free (required for complete install)

• 128 MB of system RAM

• Windowsâ compatible report and receipt printers (ASCII mode for receipt printer)

• LAN connectivity to the Server.

(Multi-Location) Enterprise Architecture Install
(where multiple LAN systems are sharing data with an Remote Enterprise Server)

           Enterprise Server (only 1 required per Enterprise)

Windowsâ System Requirements:

• Windowsâ 2000 Server Service Pack 3, Windowsâ Server 2003

• Hard drive with 350 MB space free  (required for complete install) - more required as database increases in size

• 256 MB of system RAM

• IIS 5 or above, with ASP.NET

• Internet Connectivity with static IP Address and public HTTP port
   

           Local Server (1 required per location)

Windowsâ System Requirements:

• Hard drive with 350 MB space free (required for complete install) -  more required as database increases in size.

• Internet connectivity required to connect to Enterprise

• LAN connectivity required to other workstations
